How To Create A Viral LinkedIn Post
We ran a poll, asking a LinkedIn community of 600+ marketers & ghostwriters what they think are the most important elements of creating a viral LinkedIn post… and here’s what they shared:
Almost 5 out of 10 (48.5%) of our respondents said a viral LinkedIn post must have a great hook
6.1% of respondents said content newness & freshness is more likely to make a LinkedIn post go viral
3% believed content visuals (images & videos) are the critical elements of creating viral LinkedIn posts
12.1% of respondents each said trendiness & perceiving the source of content as an authority are vital to creating a viral post
15.1% believed inculcating engagement triggers within the post is vital to creating a viral post
3% believed the time of posting also contributes to virality
In summary, from our survey, a larger portion of what makes a viral LinkedIn post, according to marketers, is:
- the post’s hook, (48.5%)
- using engagement triggers (15.1%)
- writing on a trending topic (12.1%), and
- building trustworthy authority (12.1%).
